As an Ipswich firefighter, an EMT and a part-time police officer, Keith Carlson has shown a special interest in education by spearheading fire prevention programs in local schools.
In 2005, he took on a Student Awareness of Fire Education position, developed a curriculum and personally presented it to kindergartners through fifth-graders. He was also instrumental in fostering many extra school projects such as supplying "Grab and Go" bags to Ipswich seniors.
Carlson also runs the VIAL for Life program, which shows elderly citizens how to store away important medical information so it's accessible to emergency responders in the event a person cannot communicate with them.
