In case you missed it, a great American past away this week. Col. Paul Tibbets, who piloted the plane Enola Gay, which dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan in August, 1945. Although it killed about 80,000 people, it saved countless lives by virtue of forcing Japan to surrender and thereby preventing us from having to invade the Japanese islands (there are a lot of them) and having many bloody battles for the Japs never would have surrendered without his brave action and the effects of the bomb itself.
We owed the man a debt of gratitude and we can help pay it by never letting anyone dis our country for using the bomb.  We have nothing to apologize for.
